🌤️ Weather: Fantastically cool and crispy with warm sunny days🌱
Dirt: All time perfect!
🙏 We are humbled and over the moon 🌕 by the massive influx of members and donations over the last week. We received almost a year's worth of donations in just one week! 🫢 Now, perhaps it just highlights how short we've been in the past – but more importantly, it shows just how incredible this community truly is 💚.
When you ask humbly and honestly, sometimes you get just what you need. It's been a good life lesson 🌱.
We’ve also added a tracker to the website, so you can now follow how the fundraising campaign is going 📈.🎯 The target? $140,000 per year – enough to hit the gold standard for vegetation control, drainage, blowing, and light surface repairs.
Together, I reckon we got this. 💪🌲
🏃♂️ Te Pūtake o Tawa Running Track
Outstanding effort from the running/walking crew out there getting their hands dirty 🧤. It’s one thing to enjoy the trails – another entirely to roll up the sleeves and help maintain them 🛠️. We’re incredibly fortunate to have access to such a well-loved trail network, and even more fortunate to have people willing to care for it 🙏. Thank you for the mahi – it’s noticed, and it’s appreciated 🌿.
🐰 Bunny Jugs 1
The “First Sunday of the Month” working bee was a success once again, thanks to a solid turnout 👷 and a clear mission: open up a few tight sections of Bunny Jugs 1 and bring a bit more fun back to the ride 🎢.
With the shuttle route changes bringing more wheels down the old bunny 🚴, the timing couldn’t have been better. The result? Still spicy 🌶️, now with even more flavour! A job well done 👌, and a genuinely enjoyable day out in the forest 🌲.Why not come along to the next one? 4th May. Star Wars Day. 🪐⚔️ Dress up optional.
🐇 Bunny Jugs 2
Some smart tidy-up work by the trail adopter here, taking care of wear and tear from the extra traffic 🚵♀️. Riders now get a smooth, continuous link from the bottom of Hot X Buns and Te Poaka 🔁, into Bunny Jugs 1 and then all the way back to the shuttle on Bunny Jugs 2 🚐. Definitely a better option than bombing down the road 🛣️!
🛠️ Kung Fu Walrus / Te Ahi Manawa / Taura / Tangaroa-mihi / As You DoThese trails haven’t gone unnoticed 👀. Quiet, consistent maintenance has been happening behind the scenes – the kind of work that’s easy to overlook but makes all the difference when you’re out there riding 🧭. A sincere thank you to those keeping these lines running well – your efforts are showing 🌟.
💧 Frank n’ Furter
Drain clearing over the weekend – simple, essential, and nicely done ✅. Haven’t been up this one in a while myself, but now I’ve got a reason to make the trip 🚶. Cheers to the trail adopter keeping things flowing where it counts 🔧.
🌪️ Dipper
Full-length service on this one – drains cleared, trail blown, everything cleaned up and ready to roll 🧹. The crew put in the time, and it shows 💪. Should be running smooth and fast – enjoy it out there, this is a great track for all riders to enjoy 😄.
🟣 Tokorangi Pā Track (Purple)
Another tidy round of maintenance here – drains and trail surface both given attention 🪣. This walking track’s a gem 💎, and it’s great to see it kept in such good shape. Well worth a wander if you’ve got a clear morning and good shoes 👟 – and maybe a puppy 🐕 to tag along. Lovely.
⛰️ Mini DH
A fresh feature has landed – a tidy little stump jump with a solid landing some distance down the trail ✈️. Hats off to the trail adopter, always looking for ways to keep us coming back for more 🔁! Awesome work buddy 👊!
🌲 The forest is free to access and love, but it costs A LOT to maintain.
Please, please donate 💸 so we can keep the forest beautiful, or consider becoming a member 🙌:🔗 www.rotoruatrailstrust.co.nz
